The LMCC (Licenciate of the Medical Council of Canada) is the nickname most medical students use to refer to the Medical Council of Canada Evaluation Examination (MCCEE). The LMCC is divided into to distinct examinations.
The LMCC part I is a computer-based multiple-choice questions exam assessing basic medical knowledge in the principal disciplines of medecine. Fourth year medical students across Canada go through the LMCC I in April-May each year. The LMCC part II is a OSCE-type clinical examinations that first year residents are required to do. Successful candidates to both parts are granted the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada and are registerd into the Canadian Medical Registry.

This following year, the FMEQ will we working with the MCC to improve the French version of the LMCC I. Recent graduates have noted that the French translation was suboptimal and contained numerous significative errors. The FMEQ aims to ensure that all candidates to the LMCC I have equal opportunity of successfully completing the exam, regardless of their language selection.
