In 2005, The 18th annual FMEQ General Assembly was held the weekend of the 16th to 18th of September 2005, at the Hotel des Gouverneurs, in Trois-Rivières.  The opening of medical schools in satellite campuses ( Trois-Rivières (2004), Moncton (2006) and Chicoutimi (2006) ) and the issue of clerkship in rural areas were the topics brought to the table by the fourty some representatives from each of the four Quebec medical faculties.  The 2005 edition of the edition was a huge success.  The 2005-2006 academic year promises to be filled with projects and work for the new executive council, elected during the General Assembly.

In 2004, the General Assembly of the FMEQ was held in Drummondville.  The main theme was the great medical challenges of the 21st century.  Attending the assembly were representatives from the Ministry of Health and Social Services, the FMOQ (Fédération des Médecins Omnipraticiens du Québec), FMSQ (Fédération des Médecins Spécialistes du Québec) and the FMRQ (Fédération des Médecins Résidents du Québec), in order to present and debate over their different outlooks on the various topics at hand.

The 2003 Convention was held at the "Auberge du Faubourg" in St-Jean-Port-Joli. Under the theme of the convention "Management Crisis". Approximately forty delegates discussed the projects and progress of issues addressed during the previous year by the "FMEQ". They have also outlined the main route for assignments to come. It has itself proven to be a unique opportunity for the different student associations to exchange on current issues of great concern.
