The political affairs branch of the FMEQ represents Quebec medical students at all government levels. The FMEQ delegates follow-up the outcome of political issues which may directly or indirectly affect medical students, be it at an educational level or for issues concerning future practice. Therefore, the files pertaining to Health and Education are of particular interest. The role of the FMEQ is pivotal considering that medical education is important for both provincial and federal governments.
Through it's involvement in different committees and presentation of different reports before parliamentary commissions, the FMEQ puts forth the importance of a quality medical education for future doctors in proceedings before the Health and Education departments.
Under the heading public documents you will find several memoirs submitted by the FMEQ over the past years, documents pertaining to medical education as well as rules and regulations. In 2007, a report about Quebec medical student satisfaction of the residency matching service (CaRMs) was realized thanks to a national survey to the 2007 graduates .
