1 - FMEQ-Sogemec scholarship for humanitarian engagement

Dear students,

This year the Fédération médicale étudiante du Québec (FMEQ) and Sogemec Assurances have come upon the agreement of creating two new scholarships for medical students in Quebec. One of them, worth 1 000$, is specifically designed for students having demonstrated excellence and implication in a humanitarian project. The other is specifically designed for students experiencing important financial difficulties.

Hence, a committee whose responsibility is to review the files of candidates and for selecting the ultimate recipient has been struck up. It is formed by members of the FMEQ executive council and will guarantee the confidentiality of the candidacies and the information provided. (See details in PDF)

Finally, all the documents need be mailed to the address of the FMEQ as indicated below, and this before APRIL 30th (postmark stamp as proof).

2 - 2007 Medical Student Scholarship Program of The College of Family Physicians of Canada

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is offering $10,000 scholarships to medical students - one to be awarded at each medical school in Canada. Students in good standing with an interest in a career in family medicine and in the graduating class of 2008 are eligible to apply.  The deadline for applications is April 15, 2007.  Application forms are available from the office of the Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at each Canadian medical school and on the CFPC website at www.cfpc.ca/awards.
